This entire week felt like it was just jammed packed full of celebrations. After Valentines on Wednesday it was time to wrap my head around Chinese New Year on Friday. Ryan and I had a quiet dinner at home on for our little midweek celebration and snuggled up on the couch for the rest of the night. (We both had a late night, so thank god for slow braised Ragu and Trader Joe's orecchiette [recipe to come!]).

Chinese New Year really snuck up on me this year so I spent all of Thursday morning elbowing my way through the hustle and bustle of Chinatown to pick up last minute groceries to get ready for my family coming around on Friday. My aunt had flown in for a few weeks and came over to help me prepare for all of my cousins coming around for dinner. Now I'm regretting that I (as always) got carried away chatting and didn't take more photos of the everything that we made.

In any case, the time between New Year and Chinese New Year is one of my favorite times of the year.  A bit of a "dry-run" for all of the resolutions I intend to make, and another reason to get the family together post-holiday season. Anyone else feel that way? But enough rambling, here are the things that I thoroughly enjoyed throughout this week.

La Colombe Coffee

This fresh new bag of coffee from La Colombe was key to getting through the busy week.

Ragu Pasta

Slow braised Ragu + Orecchiette = Weekday dinner done and dusted

caudalie body oil

The weather this past week has made my skin as dry and the Sahara. This body oil by Caudalie feels like the only thing that make my limbs feel nourished after the shower. (also check out my blogpost on other French Beauty finds)

This young one that made another special appearance at our Chinese New Year dinner. (Lion costume and all)

Brooklyn Skyline

The views from my Sunday run that reminds me of how much I love my neighborhood
